Emails: How does the inline embedding (Base64 encoding) of images work?

Due to the wide variety of e-mail clients and providers, creating an e-mail is quite cumbersome. If logos are to be sent as a signature, the recipient sometimes receives them differently than expected.

One possibility is to merge the logo with the e-mail using the inline embedding method. To do this, the image or logo must first be converted to Base64 format.

This is possible free of charge at The image is then inserted as an <img> tag and optionally also provided with an <a> tag to link the image to the website.
