Emails: How does the inline embedding (Base64 encoding) of images work?

Due to the wide variety of e-mail clients and providers, creating an e-mail is quite cumbersome. If logos are to be sent as a signature, the recipient sometimes receives them differently than expected.

One possibility is to merge the logo with the e-mail using the inline embedding method. To do this, the image or logo must first be converted to Base64 format.

This is possible free of charge at base64-image.de. The image is then inserted as an <img> tag and optionally also provided with an <a> tag to link the image to the website.
